My Background

I became an artist very young growing up in a small town, not restricted from the local discard dump.  My mom and sister and I spent hours sifting through ordinary thing, then dragging them home to be changed into wonderful works!  My father gave me the "run" of his tools. Creativity was a valued part of all my early life.

,   The Grandfather I grew up around was a "Rube Goldbert", who with a little wire and tape could fix anything.  The Grandfather, whom I never knew, carved tiny sail boats magically placed in bottles and larger wooden sailboats in full sail with turnbuckles, halyards and all the details.  He even carved tiny people at the helm.  His work was admired with a specialness that I wanted to experience for myself, so throughout my life, I have collected, treasured and created. I have carried clay and wax, metal and wood though marriages and moves.

   I believe that all of life is about perception and learning and that art is a way of "speaking" about your perceptions. I find it an extraordinary privilege to be able to share this through my creations

 I am interested in portraying the inner life of the feminine psyche through face, body posture and use of mediums. My inspirations come from life, from people, from personal intuitions and dreams, from reading and photographs.
